Vans Warped Tour Shakopee Minnesota by Patrick Dunn
Everything about Van’s Warped Tour is extreme and that’s what makes it pretty freaking amazing. It was sunny and hot for the July 24th stop at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN – extreme for some, perfect for my tastes. The line that forms before gates officially open at 11am is always extreme, but the seasoned Warped Tour fan knows that your place in line can determine your perfect or not so perfect spot for the next 10 hours. One of the most impressive and under-appreciated components of Warped Tour is how well they manage the band schedule from day to day and city to city. Although the lineup for each city is published in advance, you won’t know what band will be playing at what time on which of the 7 stages until you are standing in front of the iconic Van’s inflatable wall schedule. In an attempt to be extreme, I covered 3 bands per hour during my 8 hours there, which is only a fraction of the 68 bands listed on the official schedule.
Gallery includes pictures from the following 25 bands: Issues, Falling In Reverse, Mayday Parade, Reel Big Fish, Real Friends, Sum 41, Sleeping With Sirens, New Found Glory, State Champs, Good Charlotte, 3OH!3, Yellowcard, The Story So Far, Set It Off, Four Year Strong, Too Close To Touch, The Color Morale, Chelsea Grin, Motionless in White, Vanna, The Word Alive, Veil of Maya, Atreyu, Ice Nine Kills, Every Time I Die
