Motionless in White – Skyway Theater – Minneapolis MN – April 27th 2019

Skyway Theater Presents Motionless in White with special guests Atreyu and Wilson.

I will rate my overall experience on a 1-10 scale based on three categories (in this order):
Overall Entertainment Experience – Did I enjoy the set?
Performance – How do they sound live?
Energy – Stage presence, overall energy, crowd reaction.
10 = Mind blowing experience. 1 = I’d like to leave now.
Now that we’ve settled that, time for the reviews.

The Venue: The Skyway Theatre
Incredibly friendly staff. There are separate levels so you’re not crammed like sardines, and you can take a seat between shows.
9/10

Wilson – 6 8 8
My expectations were low going in. I listened to some of their music before the show and they sounded like a mix of Nickleback and Attila.  By the time the set was over, they won me over. I was blown away by how much fun that was. I wouldn’t go out of my way to listen to them, but the stage presence and energy made up for it in a big way. Great way to start the night.

Atreyu – 9 8 9
I only recognized a handful of their songs, but Atreyu’s set was fun as hell. The stage production and lighting were terrific. There was definitely a nostalgic feeling in the air but that’s not the only reason people were having a good time. Atreyu exceeded my expectations big time. Bravo. This is how a rock concert should be.

Motionless In White – 8 7 9
Motionless In White was by far the heaviest band of the night. These dudes wailed. The crowd was feeling it and the band responded. You could tell the band was genuinely having a good time, and even played requests.  The pits were active and the crowd surfers were doing their thing.  Excellent show.
