Tove Lo – Palace Theater – St. Paul MN – September 5th 2023

9/5/2023 Tove Lo @ the Palace Theater in St Paul, MN

Of course I knew about Tove Lo but I really didn’t know her music. I had heard she had amazing vocal abilities and also was a bit of a risqué dresser, but that was about it. I really didn’t know much about her other than the fact that she was Swedish (which i am 1/3 Swedish myself) and people either rave about her or have no idea who she is. So when I got the opportunity to go to the concert I jumped at the chance! I didn’t know a single song she had written, but heard she had an amazing voice and was a brilliant songwriter. Also, i heard she co-wrote songs with other people too.

I don’t know if the show was officially sold out or not, but if it wasn’t it had to be pretty close to sold out since it was absolutely packed. You could barely move in the beautiful Palace Theater there were so many people. You could feel the energy in the place. This was a last minute gig so I didn’t see the opening band, but from what I heard from people after the show, they said that the opening act, UPSAHL, was great. When it came time to the main event, Tove Lo burst onto the stage like a wild cat. And her outfit, well let’s put it this way, if I put the photos of her in her outfit from the first three songs, the bots on Facebook and Instagram might flag my account for nudity which is wild cause she was fully clothed …sorta. This is something I never thought I would write in a concert review, but she was wearing a top that had fake nipples and boobs that, even from the concert pit, looked realistic. However, it was just a fancy top that gave the illusion of it. I was lucky enough to meet her after the show and she have asked her to find out for sure, but didn’t (kind of an awkward conversation.)

So, if you love wild concerts and great singers and songwriters, please check out Tove Lo. She puts on an amazing show and even the sets were phenomenal (it had a ‘heaven on earth’ look to it.) Hopefully her photos won’t get me banned from Facebook though.
