Amon Amarth

Amon Amarth is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Tumba, formed in 1992. The band takes its name from the Sindarin name of Mount Doom, a volcano in  J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth. Their lyrics mostly deal with Viking mythology and history, and so they have been linked with viking metal, although the band themselves prefer to be referred to as melodic death metal. The band is composed of lead guitarist Olavi Mikkonen, vocalist Johan Hegg, bassist Ted Lundström, rhythm guitarist Johan Söderberg, and drummer Jocke Wallgren. Amon Amarth has released ten studio albums, one complilation album, one EP, one video album, and ten music videos. Its first studio album, Once Sent from the Golden Hall, debuted in 1998. Five more studio releases followed, before the band saw its breakthrough with the 2008 album Twilight of the Thunder God, which debuted at No. 10 on the Swedish album charts and No. 50 on the US Billboard 200. Three more albums, Surtur Rising, Deceiver of the Gods, and Jomsviking followed in 2011, 2013, and 2016, respectively. On May 3, 2019 Amon Amarth will release their new studio album titled “Berserker”.

Arch Enemy

Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band, originally a supergroup, from Halmstad, formed in 1995. Its members were in bands such as Carcass, Armageddon, Carnage, Mercyful Fate, Spiritual Beggars, Nevermore, and Eucharist.

At The Gates

At the Gates were formed in 1990 by former members of the death and black metal band Grotesque. They recorded a debut EP, Gardens of Grief, for the Dolores record label. The EP led seminal metal label Peaceville Records to sign the band, and they released their debut full-length album, The Red in the Sky Is Ours in 1992. After the recording of their second studio album, With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness, founding member and guitarist Alf Svensson left the band in 1993 to pursue tattoo artistry, graphic novel illustration and his solo electronic-opera-black metal project, Oxiplegatz. He was soon replaced by former House of Usher guitarist Martin Larsson, who the band knew from underground tape trading. The band continued touring Europe, and were filmed for a Headbangers Ball special feature in Nottingham, UK in July 1993.

Grand Magus

In their over 20 year career, the band from Stockholm, Sweden, has been eternalized in the Metal history and looks back on a treasury full of all-time Heavy Metal anthems. Their self-titled debut album »Grand Magus« (2001) started to stir up the underground and is now considered to be a cult favourite. But over the years, GRAND MAGUS introduced a penchant for classic Heavy Metal which combined with their inherent groove became the band’s signature sound – the first signs of this can be found on »Monument« (2003) and »Wolf’s Return« (2005). Yet the breakthrough was their 2008 work »Iron Will« that took the fans’ heart by storm. In addition to the countless live shows, including a tour with legends ELECTRIC WIZARD and CATHEDRAL, it played a key part in the bands prominent rise to the forefront of the genre. »Hammer Of The North« (2010) continued with this momentum and the band toured with other scene legends: MOTÖRHEAD and Doro Pesch. The entry into the German album charts was inevitable. The same can be said for the three records that followed »The Hunt« (2012), »Triumph And Power« (2014) and »Sword Songs« (2016) – all albums that belong in any great record collection. It’s safe to say that the same can be said for GRAND MAGUS’s latest opus »Wolf God«.
