Almost Cooper – Myth – Maplewood MN – December 5th 2019

Almost Cooper presents the Almost Cooper Christmas Fruitcake!

The band is Bobby Jensen of Hairball fame on vocals, Tim Kletti of Arena and Tyler Taz on lead guitar, John Lockner on Bass, Kris Vox of Hairball fame on drums and Nightmare Nurses, Steph and Leisa. They have perfected the performance and play the tunes exactly like Alice would, so you know it is going to be a good show.

The setlist is always a greatest hits set with a few deep tracks stuck in. They opened tonight with The Congregation from Welcome to My Nightmare 2. Interesting start cause not a very know track from Alice. Nest up was House of Fire from Trash, another great tune I would not have expected. They then went into No More Mr Nice Guy, and Under My Wheels. Under My Wheels has always been a huge favorite of mine. It was one of the Alice tunes that was always on the radio when I was growing up. Be My Lover included a special appearance from Nightmare Nurse Steph. The special stand outs from the rest of the setlist included Bite Your Face Off, It’s My Body, Ballad of Dwight Fry and Paranoiac Personality. The band is huge fans also so they know who to make the best set list. Hopefully next time we can get some off Raise Your Hands and Yell or Constrictor. Some lost classics from Alice.

Full setlist – The Congregation – House of Fire – No More, Mr Nice Guy – Under My Wheels – Be My Lover – Lost in America – Welcome to my Nightmare – Billion Dollar Babies – Bite Your Face Off – Poison – It’s My Body – Dirty Diamonds – Frankestein – Cold Ethyl – Only Women Bleed – Paranoiac Personality – The Ballad of Dwight Fry – Killer /  I Love the Dead – Eighteen – The Black Widow – School’s Out.

The props. He has a full Alice Cooper stage set. The castle is a nearly replica from Alice. All the prop’s are from the same guy who make them for Alice. The 12 foot frankenstein, the guillotine, snakes, babies, dollar bills, diamonds, well fake diamonds, the nurses, balloons, it has everything! Tonight they had Alice’s fake head from the show from Mystic Lake the week before, it was autographed from Alice himself. Leisa came out with it during I love the Dead and threw it into the crowd. Lucky fan!!

Tonight’s proceeds went to Alice Cooper Solid Rock Teen Centers and the toys went to Toys for Tots. They were a number of silent auction items including an autographed top hat, autographed bobble head, autographed poster, autographed guitar and all sorts of items. They also had a slot machine you could buy $20 Alice Cooper Rock n Roll Hall of Fame coin. The coins had numbers and they gave away even more autographed items which included another guitar and the slot machine. Alice Cooper full endorses Almost Cooper so all these items were authentic.

Overall it was a great night for music and helping kids for the holidays. Hopefully we get to do it all over again next year. For all info on Almost Cooper click HERE.
